My story
My story begins on a life changing journey to the Heart of Africa, Rwanda. This small, landlocked country is also known as the land of a thousand hills. It has survived the horrific events of the genocide that took place in 1994 and is slowly rebuilding itself.
Coming from a western country, I was immediately moved by the smiling faces of the children and the beautiful landscapes. However, it was hard to ignore that I was surrounded by poverty. There were countless starving street children as well as struggling moms to get by. These are only a few of the issues Rwanda is dealing with.
Experiencing these things first hand compelled me to take action. I started volunteering, fundraising and working on different development projects throughout East-Africa. It didn’t feel like enough and there is a demand for any form of help.
Throughout my stories - based on real life events - I hope to take you on a life changing journey as well and compel you to take action to help end poverty and raise awareness on global issues.
